Payment Gateways for Ecommerce, Event Bookings and Webforms
Introduction
To accept online payments you need a relationship with a payment gateway. A payment gateway is a service that authorizes and processes payments for online retailers in real-time. It is the equivalent of a physical POS (Point-of-sale) terminal located in most retail outlets. Payment gateways encrypt sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, to ensure that information passes securely between the customer and the merchant.
You can also offer payment methods through your site such as Cheque, Cash, EFT, PayPal, BPay, Direct Debit, Gift Voucher or for Free.
Payment Solutions for your Website
1. Manual Transactions
This system also allows you to process payments offline, which means that the customer's credit card details are sent to as a 128 bit, encrypted (secure) PDF file so you can process it yourself manually, in your own time.
2. Seamless Gateway
A seamless Gateway processes credit card payments directly on your website without redirecting the customer to a 3rd party website. The transaction is seamless and takes place instantly in real time and your customer received appropriate feedback that the payment has been successful and received. You will normally be required to have an Internet Merchant Credit Facility with you bank to accept these types of payments.
3. Non-Seamless Gateway
A Non-Seamless Gateway such as Paypal Standard redirects the customer to the Paypal website to process their payment there and will redirect the customer back to your website once the payment is completed. Note that these types of payments have a larger drop out rate as customers are often put-off by being redirected to a different website and more lengthy payment process and may terminate the transaction.
Supported Payment Gateways
We support a wide range of payment gateways internationally. Please note that geographical restrictions are set by the payment solution, not by us so you need to consider where your customers will be coming from so that you are able to accept payment from them. If you are going to sell your products in many countries you will need a payment gateway account as well as a relevant merchant account with your bank that accepts that currency. Please contact the payment gateway websites and your bank for further details.
If you are going to be selling products that require the collection or recurring payments (for example, subscription or membership payments), you must select a payment gateway that supports this feature.
We can provide multi-currency websites so that Australian customers see Australian Prices and American customers see American prices. There is also an option to utilise two payment gateways within your website as long as one is of them is Paypal Standard.
